Take the time to know & improve your health & wellbeing with the ‘Grace Of Galway’ Ayurvedic range.
Originating from India, Ayurveda is a 5,000 year old holistic healing practice that focuses on the science of life (‘Ayur’ meaning life & ‘Veda’ meaning
science). Ayurveda believe every person is made up of five basic elements found in the universe: space, air, fire, water & earth.
These elements synergise in the human body to form the three life forces or energies, called Doshas. The doshas control how the body functions. They
are the Vata dosha (space & air); Pitta dosha (fire & water); Kapha dosha (water & earth). Everyone inherits an unique mix of the three doshas, but one
is usually stronger than the others & each one controls a different body function.
As such Ayurveda believe that everything in the universe (dead or alive) is connected. If your mind, body & spirit are in harmony with the universe, you
have good health. When the balance is disrupted, you get sick & become unwell. Amongst the factors that can upset the balance are age, injuries, your
emotions, genetic or birth defects, seasonal changes & climate.
Our ‘Grace Of Galway’ brand of Ayurvedic Body & Massage oils, Candles & Reed Diffusers captivates & draws on this time honoured science, to help bring about a wholesome balance & wellbeing.
Do you know your dosha?
Ayurveda is a 5,000 year old holistic practice of natural healing that has its origins in the Vedic culture of India. Tibetan medicine & traditional Chinese medicine both have their roots in Ayurveda. Early Greek medicine also
included many ideas & concepts originally described within & derived from classical ayurvedic medical texts dating back several thousand years.
Ayurveda practices that our health is the balanced & dynamic integration between environment, body, mind & spirit. Recognising that human beings are a part of nature, Ayurveda describes three fundamental energies that govern & influence our inner & outer environments: movement, transformation & structure. Known as Vata (Space & Air-WIND), Pitta (Fire & Water-FIRE) & Kapha (Earth & Water – EARTH), these primary forces are responsible for the characteristics of our mind & body.
Each of us has a specific proportion of these three doshas that shape our nature. For each dosha there is a balance & under balanced expression. As such to understand the full dynamism & characteristics of the doshas it is recommended that you consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner for a more in-depth & accurate analysis, in conjunction with the ‘Grace of Galway’ products.
